Beekeeping — Tradition, Responsibility, and the Future

Beekeeping is one of the oldest branches of agriculture in Serbia — a profession passed down through generations, deeply connected to health, nature, and the survival of bees as key pollinators.
Serbian honey is among the finest national products — natural, in high demand, and of exceptional quality.
In times of growing demand for safe, domestic food, preserving local honey production is both an economic and national priority.

The Milošević Family — Nearly Eight Decades with Bees

In the village of Drmno, municipality of Požarevac, the Milošević family has been connecting bees, nature, and consumers since 1947.
Today, Nemanja Milošević continues the tradition with more than 800 bee colonies, moving hives throughout the season to the best pastures — from oilseed rape and acacia, across the linden-rich regions of Homolje and Fruška Gora, to Banat, where the honey-harvesting season ends.

Their household offers over 20 products, including honey, propolis, pollen, bee bread, royal jelly, cosmetics, beeswax candles, as well as mead, honey brandy, and sparkling honey wine.

Modernization Through SCAP – A Stronger Step into the Market

To improve competitiveness and modernize production, Nemanja received SCAP funds for modern beekeeping equipment: hive scales for yield monitoring, an automatic honey packaging table, a trailer for transporting hives and equipment, a lift and mini loader, a centrifuge, and solar energy equipment.
The new machinery enables faster, safer, and more efficient work, precise hive monitoring, easier hive transport, and automated packaging — leading directly to higher product quality and stronger market competitiveness.

Why Domestic Honey Matters

Domestic honey is more than a food product — it’s a symbol of trust. By buying Serbian honey, consumers support:

  • Verified origin and controlled quality
  • Products free of artificial additives
  • Preservation of local beekeeping and pollinators
  • Support for Serbian villages and farmers

Looking Ahead

With tradition behind him and technology ahead, Nemanja Milošević represents the new face of Serbian beekeeping — a blend of heritage, knowledge, and modern standards.
His goal is clear: to ensure that honey bearing the Milošević name remains a symbol of quality, while the domestic market gets what it deserves — pure, safe, and authentic Serbian honey.
